FiberTite VBX is a fabric-reinforced thermoplastic air and vapor barrier membrane installed on steel roof decks as the base layer of a low-slope commercial or industrial roof assembly, restricting air movement from the building into the thermal roof assembly. The 22 mil translucent white membrane comes in 75 in. by 100 ft rolls, is mechanically fastened to the steel deck with FiberTite HD (#14) fasteners and Magnum Plus stress plates, and is made watertight by hot-air welding its overlapping seams. Seaman says it can serve as a temporary roof for up to 180 days and lists steel roof decks and gypsum roof board as compatible substrates.
