Shingle Pro is Epilay's mechanically-attached, coated woven synthetic roofing underlayment for use under asphalt shingles and metal roofs, manufactured to replace #15 and #30 asphalt felt, with a "Plasfelt" 4-ply construction (3-ply cross-woven coated polypropylene with a layer of non-woven polypropylene). It has a 6.5 mil thickness, a 10-square (48 in. by 250 ft.) roll weighing 19 lb, is rated -40 F to 260 F, and is approved by the Texas Department of Insurance. Its own technical data sheet reports Class A fire per ASTM E108, nail sealability per a modified ASTM D1970, water permeability per ASTM E96, water transmission ("No Dripping") per ASTM D4869, tear strength per ASTM D4533, tensile strength and elongation per ASTM D751, weight per square per ASTM D5261, and an overall "Approved" rating against ASTM D8257, with a 20-year limited warranty.
