ProtecTite Platinum is Epilay's premium heavy-duty commercial synthetic roofing underlayment, a mechanically-attached, coated woven synthetic sheet manufactured to replace #15 and #30 asphalt felt under metal, slate, asphalt shingle and concrete/clay tile roofing. It has a 17 mil thickness, a 10-square (48 in. by 250 ft.) roll weighing 37 lb, a gray "GripWalk" high-traction top surface and a "Skid-Resist" anti-skid coated bottom surface. The product page states it is 35 times stronger and 8 times lighter than #15/#30 felt, meets ASTM D8257 and meets or exceeds ASTM D4869 and ASTM E108 (Class A fire, tested as part of a roof covering assembly), and carries a 40-year limited warranty. Miami-Dade County NOA No. 25-0729.09 lists ProtecTite Platinum for use with approved roof assemblies specifying ASTM D8257 underlayment.
