Plasfelt is Epilay's mechanically-attached, coated woven synthetic roofing underlayment for use under asphalt shingles and metal roofs, manufactured to replace #15 and #30 asphalt felt. It is a 4-ply construction (3-ply cross-woven coated polypropylene with a layer of non-woven polypropylene), 6.5 mil thick, with a 10-square (48 in. by 250 ft.) roll weighing 21 lb, a gray "GripWalk" high-traction top surface and a "Skid-Resist" anti-skid bottom surface. The product page states it is 25 times stronger and 5 times lighter than #15 felt, meets ASTM D8257, and meets or exceeds ASTM D4869 and ASTM E108, with a 20-year limited warranty. Miami-Dade County NOA No. 25-0729.09 lists Plasfelt for use with approved roof assemblies specifying ASTM D8257 underlayment.
