Aqua Guard is EcoStar's mechanically attached roofing underlayment, a reinforced polyolefin composite sheet sold as a lighter alternative to felt. The data sheet prints a 12 mil nominal thickness, 0.06 perms (EcoStar notes it is considered a vapor barrier and recommends it over vented attics), an operating range of -40 F to 240 F, 180 days of UV protection, and 48-inch by 250-foot rolls covering 1,000 square feet, fastened with plastic or metal cap nails or cap staples. It lists Miami-Dade County NOA, Florida Building Code, Texas Department of Insurance, ICC-ES AC 188 and Intertek CCRR-0571 approvals.
