Duro-Shield Bleed Block Primer is a single-component, water-based sealer applied to modified bitumen and built-up roofing before a Duro-Shield roof coating, to encapsulate oils that exude from bituminous substrates and inhibit bleed-through. The data sheet lists smooth-surfaced BUR, all types of modified bitumen and smooth or granulated asphaltic roofing as substrates, and states it is not for gravel-surfaced BUR. It prints VOC under 50 g/L, 40.5 percent solids by volume, 614 psi tensile strength by ASTM D2370 and 5.0 perms by ASTM E96, and ships in 5- and 55-gallon containers.
