Styrofoam Brand Roofmate is an extruded polystyrene (XPS) insulation installed above the waterproofing membrane in protected membrane (inverted) and green roofs, engineered for heavyweight decks such as reinforced concrete under gravel or paver ballast, with 1/2 by 1/4 inch drainage channels on the bottom long edges. The product information sheet prints 40 psi minimum compressive strength, and the page lists 2 by 8 foot butt-edge boards 1 to 4 inches thick at R-5 per inch. DuPont's code table lists Factory Mutual approval, ICC-ES ESR-4755, UL Classification Certificate D-369, Florida Building Code FL38732 and Miami-Dade County approval; the low-slope roofing brochure classes it ASTM C578 Type VI.
