Styrofoam Brand Plazamate is an extruded polystyrene (XPS) insulation for commercial plaza decks and protected membrane roofs, laid above the waterproofing membrane to keep the membrane temperature stable and shield it from weathering and damage. It is square-edged on four sides with 1/2 by 1/4 inch drainage channels on the bottom long edge, in 24 by 96 inch boards 2 and 3 inches thick at R-5 per inch. The product information sheet prints 60 psi minimum compressive strength, and the code table lists Factory Mutual approval, ICC-ES ESR-4755, UL Classification Certificate D-369, Florida Building Code FL38732 and Miami-Dade County approval; the low-slope roofing brochure classes it ASTM C578 Type VII.
