Styrofoam Brand Plazamate XR is a higher-R extruded polystyrene (XPS) insulation made with a low-GWP formula for plaza decks, protected membrane roofs and other wet or exposed roof insulation uses, as well as low- temperature and geotechnical work. DuPont prints an aged R-value of 6.7 per inch at 75 degrees F rising to 7.7 at 25 degrees F (ASTM C518) and 60 psi compressive strength, in 4 by 8 foot square-edge boards 2 1/4 and 3 inches thick (R-15 and R-20). The product information sheet backs Styrofoam Brand insulation 1.5 inches and thicker with a 50-year thermal limited warranty; the low-slope roofing brochure classes it ASTM C578 Type VII.
