SmartRidge I is DCI Products' single-sided, externally baffled ridge vent of industrial grade plastic, with a lift side and a no-lift side so the street side of the ridge shows no shingle lift; on a low slope rear dormer, waterproof underlayment or rolled roofing is run over the no-lift side. DCI's pages describe the lift as only 7/8 inch in one passage and only 3/4 inch in another, and claim equal venting capacity to two-sided vents without printing a net free area figure. DCI states it warrants SmartRidge I for the life of the shingles.
