A patented pre-assembled natural slate roofing panel system in which four hand-quarried, pre-drilled and pre-scored Spanish slates (12 x 8 in.) are mounted on a waterproof backing to form a 38 x 14 in. module weighing 11 lbs per panel (44 lbs per box), nailed through pre-punched holes in a four-step installation that CUPA says needs no traditional slate experience and suits low-pitch roofs. CUPA states the system has received a Class-4 impact resistance rating. The same page describes the backing both as a waterproof HDPE backing and as a waterproof bituminous self-adhesive membrane. The Readyslate limited warranty for purchases after January 1, 2026 runs for the owner's lifetime for an owner-occupied single-family residence and 50 years for organizations and non-residential buildings, and requires online registration within 30 days of installation.
