A black, non-carbonated natural roofing slate with a smooth surface from the Las Arcas Prada quarry at San Pedro de Trones (Leon), Spain, operating since 1983. It is split to an average thickness of 3/16 to 3/8 in., in sizes between 16x8 and 16x10 in., in rectangular, Innova, bullnose and ogival formats, and Excellence, Ardoisier and Heavy selections. Published test values: water absorption 0.27% (W1), non-carbonated (0.50%), longitudinal MOR 50 MPa, SO2 exposure S1, thermal cycle T1, freeze-thaw pass.
