A deep grey, non-carbonated natural roofing slate with thin laminations and a very uniform smooth surface, from the San Vicente quarry at Villamartin de Valdeorras (Ourense), Spain, operating since 1999. It is split to an average thickness of 3/16 to 3/8 in. in sizes from 8x6 to 24x12 in., in rectangular, square, half moon and several European decorative formats, and R EXCELLENCE, H and NATURAL selections. Published test values: water absorption 0.10% (W1), non-carbonated (0.40%), MOR 58.1 MPa longitudinal and 56 MPa transverse, SO2 exposure S1, thermal cycle T1, freeze-thaw pass.
