A blue-black, non-carbonated natural roofing slate with non-rusting metallic particles, thin laminations and a riven surface, from the Solana de Forcadas quarry at San Pedro de Trones (Leon), Spain, which CUPA PIZARRAS dates to 1892. The product page lists sizes of 30x20, 35x20, 40x20, 40x25 and 50x25 cm in rectangular, square and bullnose formats, and R, H, NATURAL and HEAVY selections. Published test values: water absorption 0.29% (W1), non-carbonated (0.50%), longitudinal MOR 51 MPa, SO2 exposure S1, thermal cycle T1, freeze-thaw pass. The product page gives an average split thickness of 7-8 mm, while CUPA's range page gives average thicknesses of 3.5 mm, 5 mm and 7.65 mm for the same slate.
