The Chief STC (Snap Tight Construction) panel is a snap-together trapezoidal standing seam steel roof panel with concealed floating clips and factory-applied hot melt mastic sealant, requiring no field seaming. Chief's guide specification gives an interlocking 3-inch seam, 24-inch or 18-inch net coverage, and 24- or 22-gauge, 50,000 psi steel with an acrylic-coated Galvalume finish or a PVDF or FEVE topcoat over an ASTM A792 AZ50 Galvalume substrate; published color SRI values run from 28 to 81. The guide specification calls for roof panel assemblies with a UL 580 Class 90 uplift rating, a UL 790 Class A fire rating and a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating, with testing to ASTM E1592. The guide specification states a 25-year Galvalume panel warranty against perforation and a 35-year PVDF/FEVE finish warranty.
