Chief MVF (Mechanically Seamed Vertical Leg Flat) and MVP (Mechanically Seamed Vertical Leg Pencil-Rib) are 16-inch, 2-inch vertical-leg standing seam roof panels in 24-gauge, 50 ksi steel, field seamed with concealed floating clips and factory-applied mastic in the side laps. Both styles carry striations to reduce oil canning, and the MVP adds three pencil ribs between the legs; the brochure states they can be installed without a structural underlayment. Finishes are acrylic-coated Galvalume or a PVDF or FEVE topcoat over an ASTM A792 AZ50 Galvalume substrate, with published color SRI values from 28 to 81. Chief's guide specification calls for roof panel assemblies with a UL 580 Class 90 uplift rating and testing to ASTM E1592, E1680 and E1646.
