A two-part counter flashing system: an RL Quick Lock (snap-lock) receiver flashing, offered in built-in and surface-mount versions and in smooth or sawtooth profiles, and a snap-in counter flashing with dimples every 12 in. that is pushed up into the receiver to lock the two pieces together, which Cheney says protects the fascia against water and wind updraft. The counter flashing page gives 26-gauge (0.018 in.) Type 304 stainless steel with Type 316 on request, also copper, galvanized or aluminum, a 1-1/4 in. by 4-1/2 in. profile with a 1/2 in. drip edge, and spot-welded and soldered corners and end dams, and says its stainless steel meets ASTM A240/A240M, ASTM A666 and ASTM A480/A480M.
