Patriot XL is CertainTeed's two-piece laminated architectural shingle in a 42 in. x 14 in. format laid at a 6 in. exposure, 57 shingles and 3 bundles per square covering 98.7 sq. ft., weighing about 220 to 235 lb. per square depending on the plant. The August 2026 data sheet lists UL 2218 Class 3 impact resistance and ASTM D3161 Class F and D7158 Class H wind resistance, names Shadow Ridge XL as its hip and ridge, and gives a lifetime or 40-year transferable limited warranty depending on ownership and building type, up to 10 years of SureStart protection and a 10-year algae resistance warranty.
