Viking Roofing Asphalt is BITEC's oxidized asphalt for built-up roof systems, published as Viking Type III Roofing Asphalt (steep asphalt), which meets or exceeds ASTM D312 Type III for slopes up to 1 in. in 12, and Viking Type IV Roofing Asphalt (special steep asphalt), which meets or exceeds ASTM D312 Type IV for slopes up to 2 in. in 12. Both are used as interply adhesive, waterproofing agent and flood coat in asphalt BUR, and as an adhesive for insulation, cover panels, fleece-back single-ply and SBS modified bitumen systems. Both are packaged in 100 lb cartons or 50 lb burpacks.
