An externally baffled, shingle-over ridge vent sold in rigid 4-foot sections with integrated end plugs, pre-drilled and embossed nail lines, and narrow 1/8 in. wide vent holes; external and internal baffles block wind-driven rain and snow. An internal-filter variant, X18 Xtra, is offered for added weather protection. Per the manufacturer's sell sheet it prints a net free area of 18 in² per lineal foot, is 14 3/4 in. wide, 0.8125 in. thick. It carries Miami-Dade County approval, Texas Department of Insurance Product Evaluation approval (RV-28), and Florida Building Code approval (FL 7751). Benjamin Obdyke's ridge vent warranty is lifetime when installed with new shingles carrying a lifetime manufacturer warranty, or 50 years when the shingle warranty runs for a shorter term.
