A large-format extruded concrete slate-look tile, 16 by 16 inches nominal at about 73 pieces per square with a 13-inch exposure (12 inches staggered) and a 3-inch minimum headlap, which Bartile says has a patented design that can be installed without battens. The home page says batten-free installation is possible on pitches 6/12 or less, while the slate page says it installs on pitches as shallow as 6/12. The spec sheet prints weights of 11.5, 10.4 and 8.9 lbs "per sq." for its Super Duty, Standard and Ultralite weights without stating the area unit, ASTM E108 Class A fire, ASTM C67 freeze-thaw testing and "Class 4 Impact Resistance" without naming an impact test standard. The slate page states wind resistance up to 120 mph for every Bartile slate tile.
