Permit process note
The Building Inspection Permits & Requirements page states that "any owner or authorized agent who intends to: Construct, Enlarge, Alter, Repair, Move/Remove, Change the occupancy of a building or structure, Demolish, Replace any system; electrical, mechanical, plumbing... must make application to building inspection or Developmental Review Committee and obtain the required permits." Applications are submitted by email to [email protected] (25MB message limit) and go through a plan review process before permits are issued and inspections are scheduled.
Adopted code
The Unified Government's Code of Ordinances, Chapter 8 ("Buildings and Building Regulations"), Article II, Sec. 8-24 is titled "2018 International Building Code—Adopted." The Building Inspection Permits page separately states that residential applications "are reviewed under the following codes as adopted by the Unified Government[:] Residential International Residential Code 1 & 2 Family Dwellings," which corresponds to the 2018 International Residential Code for One- and Two-Family Dwellings adopted under Chapter 8, Article VII.
