Permit process note
Anyone who intends to construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, demolish, or change the occupancy of a building or structure must first apply to the building official and obtain the required permit. All commercial construction must be performed by a licensed and insured contractor; homeowners doing their own residential work include a property owner/builder liability form with the application. Electrical, plumbing, and gas permits are purchased through the State of Colorado (DORA).
