The Town's Building Department page states the fee schedule directly: "Roof Repair: Removal of layers/overlay, regardless of the type of roofing materials, requires a minimum permit of $26.55. Areas of less than 100 square feet do not require a permit to repair." Other listed permit categories include Mobile Homes (a moving permit from the Jackson County Treasurer's office plus a separate Town of Walden moving permit), Storage Sheds (a movable shed over 120 sq ft requires a permit), Fences (any fence over 6 feet requires a permit), Dry Wall Repair and Siding Installation/Repair (areas over 100 sq ft require a permit). "Any person who commences any work on a building, structure, electrical, gas, mechanical or plumbing system before obtaining the necessary permits shall be subject to a fee established by the building official that is DOUBLE the amount of the normal required permit fees."
