Permit process note
A building permit is not required for reroofing unless the roof structure itself is being modified. For commercial reroof projects, the roof color and material must be emailed to the Planning Department for approval before work begins. Building permits and commercial technical permits are submitted in-person to the Town of Silverthorne Community Development Department (or online via the SmartGov portal for other permit types); the Town works with the Summit County Building Department for building code plan review and field inspections. Electrical permits are applied for separately and directly with Summit County.
Inspection requirements
Building code plan review and field inspections are performed with the Summit County Building Department. Building plans, the inspection card, and plan notes must be printed in color and available on the job site at each inspection; if they are not on-site and accessible, the inspection will not be performed and a $65 reinspection fee may be assessed.
