The building permit authority for unincorporated Montrose County, Colorado. The Building Department provides plan review, inspections, and enforcement of the currently adopted building codes, and also reviews and approves onsite wastewater treatment systems. The division publishes re-roofing guidance under the 2018 International Residential Code and accepts building permit applications through the county's online Citizen Permit Portal.
