Permit process note
All permitting, plan review, and inspections for Moffat County (outside the Town of Dinosaur) are handled by the Craig/Moffat Regional Building Department at Craig City Hall, 300 W 4th Street, Craig. Electrical inspections are deferred to the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies.
Inspection requirements
The regional building department performs all inspections for its service area; electrical inspections are performed by the State of Colorado (Department of Regulatory Agencies).

As of January 1, 2020, Moffat County (jointly with the City of Craig) has adopted the 2018 editions of the International Building Code, International Residential Code, International Existing Building Code, International Mechanical Code, International Fuel Gas Code, International Plumbing Code, and International Energy Conservation Code.
