Registration details
  • license: Lewisville's Code of Ordinances Sec. 4-551(a)(3) requires contractor registration for "removal and disposal of construction debris services, including roofing contractors," and Sec. 4-551(c) states "No permit to perform any type of building... work shall be issued to any contractor which is not registered with the city under this article." Roofing contractors register as general contractors under Sec. 4-552(c)(1), which requires "proof that the contractor maintains surety bond or liability insurance in the minimum amount of $100,000.00." Registration is annual (Sec. 4-555), and property owners performing work on their homesteaded primary residence are exempt (Sec. 4-551(d)).

The Building Permits page lists "Re-roofs & re-decks" among the permit types under Building & Miscellaneous Permits. The city has launched MGO Connect for all permitting and inspection requests; applicants or their contractors create an MGO Connect account to apply for a building permit, register as a contractor, request inspections, and pay invoiced fees.

No. 0612-23-ORD (adopted 11-6-23).
