The City's adopted International Residential Code, 2018 Edition (Section 4-301) exempts from permit requirements, at R105.2 item 15, "Repair or replacement of roofing and/or siding materials not exceeding 400 square feet (37.16 m2) within any 12 month period." The parallel adopted International Existing Building Code, 2018 Edition (Section 4-1301), Section 105.2 item 16, states the same exemption: "Repair or replacement roofing and/or siding materials not exceeding 400 square feet (37 m2) within any 12-month period." Roofing work exceeding this 400-square-foot annual threshold requires a building permit.
Adopted code
Section 4-301 of the Code of the City of Haysville, Kansas states: "There is hereby adopted by reference by the City of Haysville, Kansas, for the purpose of establishing standards for the safety, health, and public welfare, the International Residential Code, for One and Two Family Dwellings, 2018 Edition." Section 4-1301 likewise adopts the International Existing Building Code, 2018 Edition.
