Registration details
  • license: All contractors doing work within Town of Gypsum limits must be licensed with the Town of Gypsum and must submit a Certificate of General Liability (and Workman's Comp, if applicable) with the Town of Gypsum named as certificate holder.
Permit process note
Construction cannot begin until a building permit has been issued. For projects such as home additions or remodels, including re-roofing, the applicant fills out and submits the Building Permit Application to the Town and uploads plans for review through the Town's online Plan Submittal portal.
Inspection requirements
Inspection requests or questions must be directed to Building Department staff by 4 p.m. Permitted construction and site work hours are Monday through Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Sunday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Town of Gypsum Building Code requirements are codified under Title 15 of the Gypsum Municipal Code, which adopts the 2021 International Building Code (IBC), 2021 International Residential Code (IRC), 2021 International Mechanical Code (IMC), 2021 International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC), 2021 International Plumbing Code (IPC), 2018 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC), 2021 International Fire Code (IFC), 2023 National Electric Code (NEC), and the 2009 ICC/ANSI Accessibility Standards.
