Permit process note
Re-roof permits cover removal and/or replacement of roofing materials and underlayments only, with a fee of 100 dollars for residential and 400 dollars for commercial re-roofs. Applications may be submitted via PDF form or through the county's online re-roof permit portal. Permits become void if work does not commence within 180 days.
Inspection requirements
Inspections are scheduled through the county inspection line at 970-945-1377, ext. 1621. The county does not issue temporary certificates of occupancy; final inspection items must be completed before occupancy approval.

Garfield County has adopted the 2015 International Residential Code and 2015 International Building Code (effective July 1, 2016), including the International Fire Code, and operates under the 2018 International Energy Conservation Code for energy standards.
