- license: The City of Florence issues two contractor license tiers: a Limited license at 50 dollars per calendar year requiring 300,000/1,000,000 dollar aggregate general liability coverage and 100,000 dollars auto liability, and a General license at 100 dollars per calendar year requiring 1,000,000/2,000,000 dollar aggregate general liability coverage and 1,000,000 dollars auto liability. The City of Florence must be listed as the Certificate Holder on the liability certificate.
Permit process note
Re-roofing projects require a Building Permit Application and a signed copy of the contract or estimate sheet with the homeowner, submitted at least three business days prior to the scheduled start date. Permit materials are submitted to the Building Department, and payments can be made through the state's online payment portal.

Building inspections are completed as requested by contractors and owners and may be scheduled by calling the Building Department at (719) 784-4848, option 6.
