Permit process note
A roofing permit is required any time more than one square (100 square feet) of roof covering is replaced. City roofing standards require each slope containing damaged shingles to be replaced in its entirety rather than patched, and materials and fastening methods must be rated for 115 mph wind.

Inspections are arranged by emailing [email protected] or calling 303-412-3534 before 3:30 p.m. on the preceding day. The State of Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies administers all electrical permits and inspections.

Federal Heights adopted the 2021 ICC codes (including the 2021 IBC and 2021 IRC) via Ordinance 23-02 on March 7, 2023, effective April 15, 2023 based on permit application date, with the International Energy Conservation Code remaining at the 2018 edition.
