Registration details
  • license: "All contractors that perform this type of work shall be registered with the City of Denton as a general contractor and a roof permit shall be applied for and issued prior to the start of work."
Permit process note
"The City of Denton now requires a roof permit for all residential roof or re-roof projects," effective June 1, 2022. Permits are applied for and issued through the eTRAKiT portal before work begins; the City no longer accepts paper permit submittals.
Inspection requirements
Two inspections are required: "Roof Decking (If Applicable)" and "Roof Final." The final inspection includes an interior attic check for vent-pipe clearance and decking thickness, plus an exterior check confirming complete installation of roof material, drip edge, flashing, and vents, with debris removed.

"All new roof coverings shall be installed per the 2021 International Residential Code, as applicable."
