Permit process note
The Town's Building Permit Application (2026) states: "No new building or additions to an existing building within the Town of Crawford shall commence until the Owner (Permittee) receives an approved Building Permit Application," and "All Work shall be done subject to and in accordance with the requirements of this permit and the Town of Crawford Municipal Code, Section 18." The listed fee is "$50 for permit and 50 Cents/Square Foot." The form also requires the Contractor's name, phone, and address, and warns that a "breach of the conditions set forth in this Permit or Section 18 of the Town Municipal Code pertaining to building regulations, could cause disallowing future permits to the Permittee." The Town's Permits page separately lists an Excavation Permit and a Fence Review Form/Fence Ordinance. Municipal Code Chapter 18 (Building Regulations), Sec. 18-1-30, requires a building permit from the Town Building Inspector before "construction of any new building or addition to a building, within the Town limits," with fees set by resolution of the Board of Trustees; Chapter 18 adopts no International Code Council code edition, and roofing or re-roofing work is not addressed anywhere in the chapter.
