Registration details
  • license: City of Cedar Hill Contractor Registration page states an individual or company acting as the general contractor is required to register with the City by completing the Contractor Registration Form, valid January 1 through December 31 each year. The fee schedule lists a "Contractor/General Contractor" registration fee of $100, while state-licensed electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and irrigation contractors register annually by providing proof of license on a Trade Contractor Registration form (no listed fee for those trades).

"A permit is required for any construction, change in use or occupancy, alteration, and/or repair of any structure, roofing, exterior doors or windows, building, or building system including plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and irrigation systems." Inspection requirements
To request a building inspection for work completed under an issued permit, requests must be submitted before 4:00pm the day before the requested inspection day, via phone (972-291-5100 ext. 1093) or the EnerGov Customer Self Service website.
