Permit process note
The county's Permit Office page states: "Canadian County, excluding areas deemed as Special Flood Hazard Areas (SFHA), does not at this time have any codes that restrict the use or development of property located in the Unincorporated portions of the County. A permit is required if you are within a county maintained right-of-way or a FEMA identified SFHA." The only permit types offered are right-of-way permits (road crossings and right-of-way projects) and floodplain permits; roof work inside city limits is governed by the municipality.
