Northern Elastomeric Incorporated (NEI) was founded in Brentwood, New Hampshire in 1989 to make SBS modified asphalt, self-adhesive roofing and waterproofing products, starting with a residential ice and water protection product. It later added thru-wall flashing, below-grade waterproofing, air barrier and private-label products, and in 1999 became a joint venture with Owens Corning. Its roofing product is the AC Granular Ice and StormSeal self-adhesive roof underlayment.
